Filming Opportunities

Photo of Filming in TemeculaThe City of Temecula has partnered with The Inland Empire Film Commission (IEFC) on providing outstanding service and opportunities for filming in Temecula. It is recommended that you contact the IEFC prior to submitting your film permit application. The IEFC can be reached at www.filminlandempire.com or (951) 779-6700 ext. 231.

Film Permit Process:

  1. Contact the IEFC for information on filming within the city of Temecula.
  2. Complete an application. Please be sure to obtain property owner approval for filming on private property. Insurance will also be required.
  3. The IEFC will review. If approved, IEFC will fax a copy of the application to the City for review and approval.
  4. Once approved, the City will approve the plans and fax back to IEFC.
  5. IEFC will send you the final film permit approval.

The Inland Empire Film Commission (IEFC) acts as a Film liaison with The City of Temecula. The IEFT, a division of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership (IEEP), is recognized by the California Film Commission, as the official advocate for filming interests in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The IEFC is also a member of the FLICS (Film Liaisons in California, Statewide). A FLICS designation recognizes the staff of the IEFC for their knowledge of all issues that affect production in their area. The FLICS certification serves as a "Seal of Approval" to the film industry and assures film companies that a FLICS location representative understands the film business and will be able to capably assist their company's on-location efforts.

Their team of professional staff and volunteers are available to assist you with the following services FREE OF CHARGE:

  • Preliminary scouting with photographs, and research of any potential sites.
  • An internet based collection of information on locations, weather, crew, services and suppliers.
  • Supply Digital images of locations via this web site, fax or e-mail.
  • Serve as liaison between local, state, and federal agencies and the private sector.
  • Assist in securing permits and clearances via their one-stop permit office.
  • Continually work to create a greater local awareness of the economic benefits of filming in the region and how the local businesses are directly affected.
  • Evaluate and report the financial impact of location filming on a yearly basis.
