Residential Energy Efficiency Program (REEP)

The Residential Energy Efficiency Program (REEP) was established to encourage homeowners to make energy efficient improvements by repairing or replacing older heating and cooling systems, water heaters, insulation, window, doors, and/or implementing other energy saving measures.

The REEP provides a means to achieving greater energy efficiency throughout the community through a low interest, low payment financing program.

Type of Eligible Property: Owner occupied single-family homes, townhouses, and manufactured homes on a permanent foundation.

Property Location: Within the City limits

Maximum Loan Amount: $15,000

Loan Terms: A 10-year term at 5% interest. 

Requirements: The home must be owned and occupied by the applicant.  The applicant's annual gross income may not exceed the area median income adjusted for family size as listed below:

Participants must complete an energy survey and submit a REEP loan application in order to be considered for funding.  City staff will perform a pre-inspection prior to determining eligibility for funding. 
 
Participants must also obtain a minimum of two bids from licensed contractors prior to performances of any work or funding approval.  Work completed before loan approval is not eligible for funding.

The REEP is funded through the American Recover and Reinvestment Act.  A maximum of $250,000 has been made available for energy efficiency financing.
