Hazard reduction burns scheduled aboard Camp Pendleton
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is scheduled to conduct seasonal hazard reduction burns Saturday and Sunday in the Edson Range area here.
Edson Range is located in the southwestern portion of the base. Residents of Oceanside or people driving on the I-5 through Camp Pendleton may notice smoke clouds or smell smoke during the burn.
The purpose of the hazard reduction burns is to strengthen fire breaks that run along this portion of the base.
