The Public Works Department is the largest department within the City of Temecula.  Responsibilities range from managing capital improvement projects to street repair and maintenance.

Capital Improvement
The Capital Improvement Division provides administration of the city's 5 year capital improvement program (CIP). This division oversees the turnkey contract management operation of circulation, infrastructure, Community Services & Redevelopment Agency projects, from project initiation to contract closeout.

Maintenance
The Maintenance Division within the Public Works Dept. is responsible for maintenance activities ranging from street repair to graffiti removal. 

Land Development
The Land Development Division within the Public Works Department provides for the review and engineering approval of all private development and subdivisions within the City to ensure compliance with the subdivision map act, NPDES, FEMA, City codes, ordinances, and policies.

Water Quality and Storm Water
Information regarding water quality management, storm water pollution protection, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, and the Water Quality Management Plan. 

Traffic Engineering
The Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for day-to-day traffic operations, safety issues, and future transportation needs. 

T.R.I.P. Report
The T.R.I.P. Report (Traffic Restrictions in Progress) is to advise citizens of conditions affecting traffic flow within the City. 

Admin & Special Projects
Responsible for the coordination with other agencies and organizations involved in transportation, flood control, sanitary sewer, and water distribution. 

Murrieta Creek Flood Control Project
