The purpose of the T.R.I.P. Report (Traffic Restrictions in Progress) is to advise citizens of conditions affecting traffic flow within the City.
 The following information consists of general major construction zones that are known at this time, but may not be all inclusive. This update is in effect for the week of June 29th, 2009.
Low Flow Channel The Low Flow Channel on Via Montezuma between Diaz Road and Del Rio is open.
Special Events Street Closures (4th of July Parade and Fireworks:
PARADE The 4th of July parade will include road closures at the following locations: Old Town Front Street between Moreno Road and 1st Street Main Street between east edge of Children's Museum driveway to Mercedes Street Mercedes Street between Moreno Road and 2nd Street Moreno Road 2nd Street 3rd Street 4th Street 5th Street 6th Street
FIREWORKS The 4th of July fireworks will include road closures at the following locations: Pauba Road between Margarita Road and Showalter Road Margarita Road between Rancho Vista Road and Pauba Road
Old Town Infrastructure Projects - Traffic Impacts:
Ongoing closures associated with these projects are as follows:
Main Street Closure - Mid Block between Old Town Front Street and Mercedes Street (Eastern Half): Main Street will be closed beginning in May 2008 to reconfigure Main Street and construct a Town Square associated with the future Civic Center. While the Town Square will be completed in June of 2009, this closure is expected to be ongoing for construction of the Civic Center and Parking Structure. Motorists should utilize Fourth Street (north) and Third Street (south) for access around this closure.
Mercedes Street Closure - 24 Hours a Day (150 feet South of 4th Street to 50 feet North of 2nd Street. Beginning in September 2008 and continuing for an ten month period through June 2009, Mercedes Street from 150 feet south of 4th Street to 50 feet north of 2nd Street will be closed to all but emergency traffic. This is for ongoing construction of the Civic Center, Parking Structure and Town Square. While the Town Square will be completed in June 2009, this closure is expected to be ongoing for construction of the Civic Center and Parking Structure. Motorists should utilize Old Town Front Street.
RESTRICTED LANES
De Portola from Jedediah Smith to Margarita Road will have intermittent lane closures during the repaving of the south - east bound lane by Hardy & Harper, Inc. This work will continue until July 31st. Construction zone speed limit is 25 MPH.
Murrieta Creek Multi Purpose Trail - The project is in a landscape maintenance phase; all construction is complete.
Pechanga Parkway Phase II Street Improvements - The contractor is approaching the completion of the project. All lanes in each direction along Pechanga Parkway have been opened to traffic. Current construction activities include median planting and irrigation, striping, placement of traffic signal loops, miscellaneous jobsite clean-up and traffic control. For the week of June 29, 2009, the contractor is expected to perform the final striping. Expect intermittent lane closures due to landscape and irrigation activities as well as the installation of street lights. Motorists should use caution when approaching these lane closures.
Pedestrians need to stay within designated crosswalk areas when crossing Pechanga Parkway and the side streets, and they need to follow the lane closures. Motorists traveling on Pechanga Parkway should exercise extreme caution and watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the lane closure zones.
Pujol Street south of 1st Street will have intermittent daytime lane closures to install water, sewer, and storm drain gas connections to the Temecula Villas Apartment project on the west side of Pujol Street. Work is expected to be completed by August 3rd, 2009.
Rancho California Road from Moraga Road to Margarita Road will have intermittent lane closures while pavement rehabilitation work in this area is completed. This work is expected to last approximately one month .
