The purpose of the T.R.I.P. Report (Traffic Restrictions in Progress) is to advise citizens of conditions affecting traffic flow within the City.
The following information consists of general major construction zones that are known at this time, but may not be all inclusive. This update is in effect for the week of May 14th, 2012.
LOW FLOW CHANNEL: The Low Flow Channel on Via Montezuma between Diaz Road and Del Rio is currently closed.
SANTIAGO ROAD CLOSURE: The unpaved section west of John Warner and east of Margarita will be closed to traffic, due to the excessive erosion of the dirt travel way; it is not safe for vehicles to drive through this area.
SPECIAL EVENT STREET CLOSURE: Western Days will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 19th & 20th at the Town Square, 41000 Main Street in Old Town Temecula. This event includes exhibits, music, trick ropers, calf roping demonstrations and an ICS Chili Cook-off.
A soft road closure at the intersection of Old Town Front & Main Streets will occur on both days from 11:45am - 12:30pm for the gun fighters noon shoot-out. Mercedes and the "Y" will be closing on Sunday, May 20th at 5:30am and will re-open at 7pm.
Mercedes Street traffic will be detoured around the event via Third and Fourth Streets. The Old Town Parking Garage will be open with ample free parking available to the public.
RESTRICTED LANES
Pauba Road between Showalter Road and Margarita Road will have lane closures for the construction of on street parking. This work is expected to be completed by the end of this summer.
Portola Terrace Apartments: The new development will be doing street improvements on Pujol Street just south of Main Street. Expect traffic controls.
Promenade Mall / Ring Road has ongoing traffic signal construction near the Costco entrance. Expect traffic control until the scheduled turn on date of May 16th.
Rancho California Water District will be paving trench repairs at various locations throughout the City. This will be night work beginning at 8pm. Expect traffic controls.
Rancho California Water District: Construction of a new 54" transmission main line has begun on Madison. The line will run down Buecking Drive and then north on Jefferson to Cherry Street. Most construction will occur between 7 PM and 5 AM. Expect traffic control and possible detours.
Temecula Parkway: Street improvements associated with the new hospital are continuing on Temecula Parkway. Expect traffic controls and possible detours along Dona Lynora and De Portola.
Warehouse at Third Street: There is no parking allowed on 3rd Street west of Old Town Front Street.
*There are always some unscheduled street and utility repairs that occur day and night. Please drive safely thru all delineated construction zones.
