Stay in town this holiday season and enjoy all that Old Town has to offer!
Old Town Temecula has a gift for you this holiday season. The entire town will be aglow with more than 30,000 twinkling holiday lights. To make night time viewing better, stores will be open later on Friday and Saturday evenings. Weekends are packed with special holiday entertainment and the opportunity to win a giant holiday gift basket worth $1,000 (see stores for details!).
That Jolly Old Santa Claus will listen to children’s wishes every weekend from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at his workshop on the corner of Front and Main Streets. He’ll also make an appearance Friday, December 12, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Other weekend entertainment includes Dynamite Dave on Saturday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and the Fine Arts Network Dickens Carolers from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Watch for Toy Soldiers every weekend. If you can make these cute soldiers smile, they’ll give you an Old Town Holiday gift or gift certificate. Children can be honorary reindeer, as Old Town Temecula elves will be passing out special reindeer antlers.
Save Friday, December 12 for a special family treat in Old Town Temecula. Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz will be at 5th and Front Street performing a free holiday concert from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Old Town Temecula Holiday Train will be available for free rides at 28601 Old Town Front Street. This trackless train will take you to and from the Temecula Children’s Museum where a ton of snow awaits children. Be sure to don your best Holiday “Who” attire for the reading of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Our master storyteller will be at the Holiday Train Depot telling the story to kids young and old. The Temecula Fire Department will also be conducting their Spark of Love Toy Drive in Old Town and there will be free carriage rides until 9 p.m.
Temecula school bands will perform on Saturday, December 13th for Community Music Day. This is an annual tradition for the Temecula Valley schools and features Temecula Middle School, Vail Ranch Middle School, Gardner Middle School and the Valley Winds bands.
Friday, December 19 is another special evening in Old Town. The final weekend before Christmas features a jazz concert from the MSJC Menifee Campus Jazz Band, two marionette performances from the Scott Land Marionettes, and the drawing for the Old Town Holiday gift basket. Sunday, December 21 is the final day for Santa in Old Town. A special performance of the Full Measure Handbell Quartet will be held at 5th and Front Street. This quartet, dressed in traditional Victorian attire, sings while playing beautiful hand bells from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
This is Old Town Temecula’s 12th annual holiday celebration where shops come alive with holiday lights, festive displays, and holiday cheer. Be sure to look for “Angel Wreaths” on the doors of Old Town stores. The merchants have partnered with “People Helping People” to help those less fortunate during the holidays.
