Daddy Mack and the members of the group have deep roots in Memphis' R&B music tradition, cranking out their infectious grooves with a natural and soulful musical blend. The band has played London, Paris, Las Vegas and before a crowd of thousands at the 2006 Chicago Blues Festival. Second Anniversary Celebration: Foghat - 10/4/2007, 8:00 pm
Performing at Old Town Temecula Community Theater’s Second Anniversary Celebration: Foghat
The Old Town Temecula Community Theater invites you to a special celebration at our second anniversary on Thursday, October 4, 2007.
In 1971, Foghat infused a rock ‘n roll flavor to blues-boogie music and the rest is part of Rock and Roll history. The band recorded their first LP Foghat and began touring relentlessly for the next 14 years. Their hard work has thus far been rewarded with seven Gold records, one Platinum record Fool For The City (1975), and one Double-Platinum record Foghat Live (1977). The Fool For The City album contained Foghat’s trademark Top 40 hit song Slow Ride and cemented their place as one of the world’s top rock acts. They continued to hit the charts in the 1970’s with singles such as Fool For The City, Drivin’ Wheel, I Just Wanna Make Love To You, I’ll Be Standing By, Stone Blue, Third Time Lucky, and Somebody’s Been Sleeping In My Bed… many of which are classic rock radio staples today.

Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie FRI, JAN 26, 2008, 8:00 PM Tickets: $20
There is no other way of life in the south; a musical ethnicity that has simmered itself to a uniquely homespun flavor. Immersed in the culture since birth, Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie play the Creole standards – the old-fashioned waltzes, two-steps, blues, and soul numbers – in the band’s modern Zydeco vernacular. Geno fuses his Creole roots and modern voice through his multi-accordion attack and the group is right there, turning on a dime with each spicy lick emitted from Geno’s squeezebox. With his wide repertoire ranging from traditional zydeco gems with French lyrics to innovative interpretations of country standards and his own original songs, he is home on any stage. Long after his fans have worn themselves out from dancing to his infectious rhythms, the only thing left to wonder is whether Geno and his band ever get tired!

The Little Mermaid: Missoula Children's Theatre - 2/2/2008
The Little Mermaid: Missoula Children’s Theatre
Presented by the Temecula Theater Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest County
Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem are all characteristics that are attained when a child participates in this unique and educational project. Over the last 30 years, MCT performing programs have evolved into a rewarding experience for children: A team of two professional actors/directors arrive at the Theater with a set, costumes, props and make-up… everything it takes to put on a play – except the cast. Fifty to sixty local students, grades K-12, are cast and well rehearsed throughout the week, learning lines, songs and choreography to perform in a full-length musical. This week-long residency begins with a group audition and culminates in two fully produced public performances at the Theater. MCT shows are…well…wonderful! All the children work hard and are very proud of their show, and audiences laugh and cry and sometimes want to sing along. For information about sponsoring a Boys and Girls Club child cast in this production, contact the Theater Foundation at 951.541.2588.

TWO OCTETS FOR A WINTER'S NIGHT: California Chamber Strings Ensemble - 2/9/2008, 7:30 pm
Two Octets for a Winter’s Night: California Chamber String Ensemble SAT, FEB 9, 2008, 7:30 PM Tickets: $30/$25/$12.50/$2.50 child with adult
The composers featured this evening, Johan Svendsen and Joseph Joachim Raff, may not be household names, but their octets for strings are delightful and memorable. Svendsen's illustrates Scandinavian sentimental music at its best, evidenced by his romantic play between the violins and the strings. An accomplished violinist, he composed mostly for orchestra and large ensembles and his string octet won him instant fame. Raff's octet is thought to be his best chamber piece. Its four movements progress from good natured to skittish to emotional to boisterous at its conclusion; it is a truly happy and beautiful piece. We welcome back the Chamber Orchestra's string octet whose performance in March 2006 brought down the house.
Program: Svendsen - String Octet in A Major, Opus 3 Raff - Octet for Strings in C Major, Opus 126 California Chamber String Ensemble

LEON REDBONE - 4/25/2008, 8:00 pm
Leon Redbone FRI, APR 25, 2008, 8:00 PM Tickets: $20
Leon Redbone, often cast in a cloud of mystery, is an idiosyncratic performer of early 20th-century jazz and blues music. Called "the most famous non-famous American musician," little is known about the neo-vaudeville crooner. The singer-guitarist uses his front-porch delivery and cagey demeanor to introduce the vast musical styles associated with the gramophone era – turn-of-the-century, flapper-era radio ditties, Depression-spawned ragtime and folk-jazz – to a new generation of music lovers. Yet there is always something oddly modern about this musician; his lyrical satire and emotional cynicism tend to wear well with any generation. His distinct baritone voice – propped up by his omnipresent fedora, dark glasses and Groucho Marx moustache – make him one of the more dissimilar and recognizable characters in popular music. While many performers are busy inventing career-promoting myths about themselves, the furtive Mr. Redbone chuckles at the excess of myths attributed to his mysterious persona. Redbone has released approximately a dozen albums and earned a cult-like fan community who will travel significant distances to hear him perform.
