Lifeguard Training

Students will learn Lifeguard Rescue Skills, First Aid, and CPR.

 
Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive
American Red Cross certifications in:
 Lifeguard Training,
CPR for the Professional Rescuer,
AED Essentials,
Oxygen Administration,
and Title 22.

  • Persons 15 years or older are eligible to participant in this American Red Cross Program to become certified Pool Lifeguards.
  • Students must attend all classes to pass this course.
  • In addition to attending all classes, students must pass all skill tests and score 80% or better on written exams.

CLASSES ARE FULL.  We are not accepting anyone on the waitlist any longer.

Do to the high demand, we were able to add a second class on the weekends (Class 2) which is not listed in the Activities Brochure.
Both classes will cover the same material, cost the same, and will be held at the CRC.


 

Class 1 Dates 

Pre-Course Skills Test Monday, March 19, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at the CRC.
Come ready to get into the pool.

Class Fee: $135

Fee does include books and materials which will be handed out after the Pre-Course Skills Test.




Pre-Course Skills Test

The Pre-Course Test consists of 

  • A 300 yard continuous swim using the front crawl stroke or breast stroke.
  • Two minutes of treading water without using hands.
  • A 20 yard swim using front crawl or breast stroke, surface dive to 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound brick and swim 20 yards back to starting point.

Prospective candidates must pass all pre-course skills test in order to continue in the Lifeguard Training course. A refund will be issued to individuals unable to complete pre-course skills test.
