This program was created following President George W. Bush's 2002 State of the Union address, where he encouraged all citizens to get involved and be prepared to help themselves in the event of any type of emergency. The program falls under the auspices of the National Homeland Security Department and the City of Temecula. For more information visit the National Citizen Corp website.

Community Emergency Response Team Training
Another great way to become better prepared for an emergency or disaster is to enroll in our CERT Training course. CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number of victims. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own. Through training citizens can manage utilities, put out small fires and treat the three killers by opening the airway, controlling bleeding, and treating for shock. CERT members can provide basic medical aid, search for and rescue victims safely and organize themselves to help mitigate disasters.
CERT Training is a commitment of 20 hours and there is no cost for the training. Only those who successfully complete the practical exercise with hands-on instruction in fire suppression, search and rescue, cribbing and medical will receive a certificate of completion and a CERT disaster readiness kit. All citizens can prepare for a disaster by simply having a Disaster Supply Kit readily available in their home.
