Quilt fans can get an early start to the quilt show during a two week quilt walk through Old Town Temecula. The quilt walk features 26 unique quilts chosen to complement 16 different Old Town Temecula stores, and will be displayed inside the stores beginning September 19. Brochures can be found at participating stores in Old Town Temecula.
The colorful American craft turns the banisters and eaves of Old Town Temecula into a giant colorful quilt when hundreds of handmade quilts are displayed Saturday, October 3 at the Valley of the Mist Quilt Guild’s Outdoor Quilt Show.
The guest quilter is Cathy Van Bruggen. Old Town Temecula's Outdoor Quilt Show features over 150 colorful quilts displayed on banisters and storefronts along Old Town Front Street. The event draws spectators from all over Southern California. Most of the visitors are quilters who examine the pieces for their design and patterns as well as artistry. Quilts will be on display October 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and cover the six blocks of Old Town Front Street.
A small quilt silent auction will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A large quilt live auction will take place at 1:00 p.m. The auction proceeds will benefit the children of Hugs Foster Family Agency in Temecula.
For information visit their website at www.valleyofthemistquilters.com or email votmq@yahoo.com or call (951) 693-3952. Volunteers are welcome and needed to help hang the quilts before the event.
